basmati rice
1
cup
barberries
zereshk
2
tbsp
butter
1/4
tsp
saffron
bloomed in hot water
2
tbsp
sugar
optional
1/4
cup
slivered almonds
for garnish
Salt
water, and oil as needed
Instructions
Rinse rice under cold water until clear.
Boil water, add rice, cook for 6-7 minutes, then drain.
Melt butter in a pan, add barberries, saffron, and sugar. Stir for 2 minutes.
Layer parboiled rice in a non-stick pot with butter at the bottom.
Cover and steam on low heat for 40-50 minutes.
Mix saffron water with some rice for a golden topping.
Serve topped with barberries and almonds. Enjoy!
