Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • For the Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or any affordable cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup chopped vegetables onions, bell peppers, or any veggies you have
  • Optional: sliced pepperoni cooked sausage, or leftover meats

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Gradually add warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) and vegetable oil, stirring as you go until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  • Cover the dough with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rest for about 10 minutes to rise.

Make the Sauce:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and sugar. Stir until well combined and set aside.

Assemble the Pizza:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza pan or baking sheet.
  • Transfer the dough to a greased pizza pan or a baking sheet.
  • Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  • Add your toppings (chopped vegetables, pepperoni, etc.) over the cheese.

Bake:

  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  • Serve:
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
  • Slice the pizza and enjoy your homemade, low-budget meal!
