For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
For the Sauce:
- 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- For the Toppings:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or any affordable cheese blend
- 1/2 cup chopped vegetables onions, bell peppers, or any veggies you have
- Optional: sliced pepperoni cooked sausage, or leftover meats
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Gradually add warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) and vegetable oil, stirring as you go until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
Cover the dough with a clean towel or plastic wrap and let it rest for about 10 minutes to rise.
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and sugar. Stir until well combined and set aside.
Assemble the Pizza:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza pan or baking sheet.
Transfer the dough to a greased pizza pan or a baking sheet.
Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
Add your toppings (chopped vegetables, pepperoni, etc.) over the cheese.
Bake:
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Serve:
Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
