Quick & Easy Birria Pizza

A delicious fusion of birria and pizza, ready in just 30 minutes! This recipe uses tender beef, melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and a crispy pizza crust for a tasty, weeknight-friendly dinner. Topped with fresh cilantro and served with lime wedges, this dish brings bold Mexican flavors to your table in no time.

Ingredients
  

For the Birria:

  • 1 lb 450g beef (shredded, use leftover roast beef or a quick-cooked option like ground beef)
  • 2 tbsp birria seasoning or taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water

For the Pizza:

  • 1 store-bought pizza dough or pre-made flatbread
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions
 

Prepare the Birria

  • In a skillet, cook the shredded beef with birria seasoning and beef broth over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until heated through and the flavors are combined.

Prepare the Pizza

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil.
  • Spread a layer of the cooked birria beef over the dough.
  • Sprinkle both mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the beef.
  • Add the thinly sliced onion on top.

Bake the Pizza

  • Bake the pizza for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve

  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle some salsa or hot sauce over the pizza after baking.
Quick Option: Use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken or beef if you're really short on time.
