Ingredients

  • For the filling:
  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • For assembly:
  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito-sized
  • 4 crunchy tostadas or crispy corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese or queso sauce

Instructions

  • Cook the Filling
  • Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
  • Drain any excess grease, then add the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  • Prepare the Layers
  • Slightly warm the tortillas in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to make them more flexible.
  • Place a large spoonful of meat in the center of each tortilla. Add a drizzle of nacho cheese or queso sauce on top.
  • Assemble the Crunchwrap
  • Place a tostada over the meat layer. Spread sour cream over the tostada.
  • Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a handful of shredded cheese.
  • Fold the Tortilla
  • Fold the edges of the tortilla over the center, overlapping them to enclose the fillings. If necessary, use a piece of another tortilla to seal any gaps.
  • Toast the Crunchwrap
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray.
  • Place the Crunchwrap seam-side down and toast for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and toast the other side.
  • Serve
  • Enjoy your Crunchwraps fresh and warm! Serve with salsa, guacamole, or extra queso on the side.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute black beans or refried beans for the meat. Want more spice? Add a layer of jalapeños or hot sauce before folding!
